Recently, 12 greenbelts in SIP have been turned into football pitches for nearby residents to indulge their passion for football that has been ignited by the ongoing Jiangsu Football City League.

Following the principle of “sticking in a pin wherever there’s room”, meaning making use of every available space, the football pitches were created between commercial buildings, residential quarters and industrial enterprises by simply setting up the goals and marking the lines.

These simple football fields are popular with nearby residents.

“My child likes playing football here, and we can also camp and enjoy the fresh air,” said a man who lives near the greenbelt at southeast corner of Suzhou Avenue East and Jinliang Street.
