The newly opened canteen in Tuanjie Community in SIP’s Loufeng Sub-district has brought both affordability and convenience to local older residents.

The 85-square-meter canteen was set up under a pilot project carried out by the sub-district for the purpose of fulfilling the needs of the elderly for high-quality daily meals. It provides the elderly with a comfortable place to enjoy meals and interact with neighbors.

The canteen’s service hours are longer than that of common restaurants, and it offers specially designed set meals at favorable prices to residents aged 60 and above.

All the meals are cooked with seasonal, pollution-free food ingredients which undergo the safety inspection of related authority of the sub-district. The menu is improved based on the diners’ suggestions, and new dishes are added on a regular basis to meet different people’s tastes.

The canteen’s staff members answer the elderly’s inquiries patiently, and offer them help as they need, such as cutting food into small pieces and reheating food for them. Its nutritious meals and considerate services have won it wide acclaim. The average daily footfall exceeded 100 in the first four days after its opening.
